Big Surprise

You better get ready for a big surprise! I Looooove PAROKYA NI EDGAR! Much, much, much.
Parokya ni Edgar is a Filipino band that was formed in 1993 by a group of Ateneo de Manila High School students. The band is famous and most lauded for its original rock novelty songs and often satirical covers of famous songs. The band has since transcended musical genres, varying styles from one song to another - alternative rock to pop rock, funk to rapcore, and so on - while providing comic relief to their listeners.

Naming themselves Comic Relief, the band originally consisted of three vocalists - Alfonso "Chito" Miranda, Jr., Jeric Estaco, Francis Vincent "Vinci" Montaner, and two guitarists, Miko Yap and Gabriel Ignatius "Gab" Chee Kee.
Most of my favorite songs are from this band. Some are: Bagsakan Gitara How to make a Lovesong Halaga Silvertoes The Yes Yes Show Picha Pie Akala Harana &&MANY MORE!

I make New Year resolutions for me, to be a better person, a healthier person, a kinder person. I resolve to become more patient. Also, I’m going to look for more ways to be creative this year!
This is also the year of optimism for me, no more negative thoughts and negative forecasts. I learned a lot in the year 2010, so 2011 get ready for more lessons to come! I think I have to exercise too because 'no exercise' is worse than obesity. This 2011, I am going to spend more more more time with my family and my God. I will make more memories to remember, more photos to watch, more videos to laugh, and more faith to live. So I pray, to fulfill these resolutions and find a 'getting better' Lauren this year, and in the following years.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

K+12 Program
Wednesday, January 26, 2011
The education department has formally launched its K+12 program, which adds 2 years to basic education in the country.
This means that aside from kindergarten, 6 years of elementary, and 4 years of high school, students will have to undergo an additional 2 years of study in senior high school.
Education Secretary Armin Luistro says the additional 2 years will help students decide what course they will take in college.
It will also help high school graduates get jobs since in senior high school, students will be given the chance to specialize in science and technology, music and arts, agriculture, fisheries, sports, business entrepreneurship, and others.
“Ang aking tanong dyan palagi ay ganito: Kung walang mali sa sistema, bakit ang ating mga high school graduates ay hindi tinatanggap na magtrabaho ng mga localities? Ang gobyerno nga hindi tumatanggap ng high school graduate eh,” Luistro said. The DepEd plans to implement the K+12 program in 2012 for Grade 1 and first year high school.
They anticipate spending some P63 billion for the program to construct additional classrooms and hire additional teachers for senior high school in 2015.
“Ang atin talagang piniling modelo ay ganito para makakaya ng gobyerno,” he said. DepEd still has to hold public consultations on the K+12 program but this early, they face opposition.
Parents and students say the additional 2 years are a burden, especially for the poor.
“Napapag-aral naman po kaya lang kapag may project hindi naming kayang bumili. Tamang pambili lang ng bigas, minsan hindi na kami kumakain,” one mother said.
“Madagdagan pa yung taon instead na gra-graduate tapos dagdag gastos pa eh ang hirap na nga ng buhay ngayon,” another mother said.
“Yung iba imbis na makapagtrabaho para sa magulang, madadagdagan pa,” one of the students opposed to the program said.
Several students went a step further, picketing at the education department.
“Binibigyan ng kabataang Filipino si Pangulong Noynoy [Aquino] ng 5, ng F sa pagpapabaya ng sekto ng edukasyon, sa pagpili K+12 program sa kabila ng mas madaming problema sa education sa kasalukuyang panahon,” Terry Ridon, President of the League of Filipino Students said.
The DepEd, however, held firm, saying students need the additional 2 years to remain competitive especially for overseas employment.
This causes a lot more youths to decide not to take up college because of being satisfied with they're jobs after graduating high school at the age of 18. Just look at the new college graduates of our country. Even them, that they graduated with a college degree are having hard times in getting jobs for their selves. What more jobs can be provided to those who have only graduated in high school. The Philippines will be experiencing low quality of production because of workers that lack enough education and experience. blabla, let me stop, I'm talking nonsense again.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
